Events like <\/span>Vajont (Italy, 1963)<\/b>, <\/span>Stava (Italy, 1985)<\/b>, <\/span>Mariana (Brazil, 2015)<\/b> and <\/span>Brumadinho (Brazil, 2019)<\/b>, in addition to recent ruptures in <\/span>2025<\/b> in countries like <\/span>Indonesia, Bolivia, Ghana, Myanmar, Canada and Zambia<\/b>, demonstrate that <\/span>structural failures can result in irreparable losses<\/b>: human, environmental and economic.<\/span><\/p>

Therefore, security must be treated as a <\/span>ongoing priority throughout the dam life cycle<\/b>, aligning with best practices adopted by institutions such as <\/span>ICOLD, ICMM, CDA, ANCOLD, USSD, ANA and ANM<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

Governance and Institutional Structure<\/b><\/h2>

Dam safety management must be supported by <\/span>five fundamental pillars<\/b>:<\/span><\/p>

1. Integrated Risk Management<\/b><\/h5>

Consider both the <\/span>probability<\/b> as for the <\/span>consequences<\/b> of failures, integrating technical, operational and environmental aspects.<\/span><\/p>
