overview of the main <\/span><b>dam classification systems<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> around the world, highlighting similarities, particularities and implications for geotechnical engineering.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h2><b>Brazil: CRI + DPA System (Law No. 12,334\/2010 and Law No. 14,066\/2020)<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Brazilian model is structured around two main axes:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Risk Category (CRI):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> assesses the probability of failure based on:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">State of conservation;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Project complexity;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">History of anomalies;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Environmental damage;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"
